Tirajai is a versatile Cameroonian-American singer-songwriter, composer, and recording engineer. Raised in the small town of Kumbo in Cameroon, Central-West Africa, he developed a deep passion for music at a young age. A self-taught artist in both songwriting and composition, Tirajai was influenced by legends such as Richard Kings, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Nina Simone, Phil Collins, Brenda Fassie, Oumou Sangaré, and John Mayer, meticulously studying their styles, patterns, and arrangements through countless vinyl records.
In 2010, Tirajai received his first local radio airplay, a pivotal moment that confirmed his calling in music. However, his journey was not without challenges. His dreams of reaching Lagos, Africa’s music hub, were postponed due to homelessness in Nigeria, and a personal tragedy brought him back to Cameroon. Despite these setbacks, Tirajai persevered and, in 2015, moved to the U.S. where he enrolled at Dallas College to study Commercial Digital Music Composition and Recording Art Technology. During his studies, he showcased his vocal talent as a tenor and baritone in the Richland Men’s Chorale and the Richland Chamber Singers.
Tirajai’s resilience and talent have propelled him to become a rising star in the music industry. With a discography that includes several singles, an EP, and an LP, his unique sound—rooted in his rich African heritage and shaped by diverse musical influences—continues to captivate audiences around the world. As he prepares to release a new LP, the future shines bright for this remarkable artist.
